Eczema is a chronic skin condition that we don’t talk about enough. Eczema affects 35 million Americans. Eczema has a genetic component but also can be affected by the climate you live in.  There is no cure for eczema and it can only be managed. That is why it is so important to understand the skin condition and learn how to manage it appropriately. 

Eczema can be caused by several different things such as allergies or genetic factors. It is important to understand your “triggers” when it comes to eczema. Many “triggers” or certain irritants caused by your environment. Both physical and mental stress can increase your risk and worsen a flare-up. The most common form of eczema is atopic dermatitis, dry, irritable skin combined with a malfunction in the immune system seems to be a contributing factor. Whereas, a rash often causes contact dermatitis as a result of contact with an irritant. Such irritants include perfume and certain cosmetics. What to do?

One of the best things to do is to place your cream in the fridge before using it this can calm the skin a lot.
